MCS and Enigma Vehicle Systems Partner to take hire fleet tracking to a new levelEnigma Vehicle Tracking

March 2009 - Industry leading Hire Software Solution provider MCS is working with Enigma Vehicle Systems PLC to offer the sophisticated features and benefits provided by Enigma’s ‘real-time’ asset tracking solution, Skyline, to MCS customers.

Widely used by UK hirers including H.E. Services and A-Plant, Skyline currently offers hirers a web based GPS vehicle and plant tracking solution to help track mobile and remote assets using Google earth satellite images and road maps.  Skyline’s theft prevention capabilities are far reaching and include key-pad immobiliser with remote immobilisation feature and driver identification options to name but a few.

Ian Keam-George, chief executive of Enigma Vehicle Systems.

Ian Keam-George, Chief Executive of Enigma Vehicle Systems, says “We are delighted to have formed a partnership with MCS, an internationally recognised supplier of rental software for the hire industry.  We have previous experience working with MCS products at some of our UK customers and believe that Skyline will provide an excellent added value feature in the rental software systems run by MCS customers not only in the UK but also around the world.”

With the integration of Skyline and MCS’s hire software solution MCS-rm, hirers will combine the sophistication of both products to check in ‘real-time’ more detailed information on remote equipment location & utilisation. From the equipment management screens within MCS-rm, users can click through to Skyline for an individual machine, or a group of machines, to pinpoint current location on the map, working status & current meter/mileage readings. This enables comparison of the same information from the hire contract in MCS-rm and alerts the hirer to any discrepancies detected e.g. Has it moved site, is it working more hours than was agreed in the rate, is it overdue for a maintenance check etc.
In addition to making the information available to internal users of MCS-rm, the hirer’s customers can also view the same information via the MCS extranet. They can obtain a wealth of information about the status of the equipment they have hired, to check the equipment is operating as desired, is being used properly and that it is at its intended location.

Mark Nolan, Development Director for MCS says “We believe this partnership will give our customers the edge – by adding detailed utilisation to the sophisticated searching and reporting Skyline already offers we believe we have a very interesting product”

Hirers can view a live link of the new functionality on the MCS Stand No 221 in the Blue Pavilion at the forthcoming SED Hire Show where MCS will also be demonstrating other new functionality including daily diary, allocation chart and its new information pop up screen which gives pertinent information about a customer when a contract is being raised e.g. when they last hired, what rates they were given etc.

About Enigma Vehicle Solutions
Enigma Vehicle Systems PLC began business in 1991 in answer to a growing market demand for solutions to combat a high level of commercial vehicle and construction plant theft. The company’s goal was simple: to provide market leading products and services and thus reduce vehicle and plant theft.
In 2003, Enigma made a major advance, when the company commissioned the Skyline advanced vehicle tracking and security system. The intention was to offer a world class security, tracking and fleet management system with the flexibility to use products appropriate for the application. Skyline went live in July 2004 and has become one of the market leading systems, especially in the construction, utility and plant rental industries. Theft recovery has been so successful with Skyline that, to the end of 2007, over £42 million of plant had been recovered using Skyline.

Growth, both in the UK and Worldwide has been rapid with partners in Latin America, Europe, Africa and a joint venture business, based in Dubai, UAE, serving the Middle East region. With over 20,000 vehicles and plant monitored and close to 1,000 customers enjoying the benefits of Skyline, Enigma Vehicle Systems can be regarded as one of the leading businesses in the remote asset management field.
