MCS Delivers the Proof! - POD Functionality to Save Customers Time & Money

12th February 2009 - MCS once again leads the hire software market with the launch of its fully integrated Electronic Proof of Delivery (POD) module.

The solution has been developed specifically to streamline the process in which hirer’s record and file their delivery information. Easy to use and rapid to implement, POD gives companies the opportunity to electronically scan, upload and store proof of delivery (POD) documents and damaged asset photographs. Documents, which have been previously printed with a bar code, are batched and placed in the scanner. The software scans the document and interprets the bar code which details contract number, type of document and version number.

At this stage, the documents can be viewed by an operator and be added to or deleted as required. If the software is unable to interpret the barcode these can be categorised manually. Documents such as digital photographs, PDF documents etc can also be imported, categorised and validated online and uploaded to the relevant contract or equipment code in MCS-rm.

Hirers adopting the new technology are noting many business benefits; the software is increasing the efficiency and traceability of customer transactions as well as having a direct financial impact. With the ability to improve their sales processes and workforce efficiency, hirers are dealing with customers more responsively.
